I have stood naked in the Artic Circle in deep winter chill; seen a solar eclipse rising over the Ganga river, hiked the ancient forested trails of Spain's Camino de Santiago and Japan's Kumano Kodo, and been on top of at least five volcanoes on land and at sea. I have gone off to multiple research expeditions, 10-day silent meditation retreats, and hedonistic week-long festivals. I hold a Ph.D. in a globally-significant field of science and have pushed the frontier of human knowledge through publications, presentations and outreach. I have operated supercomputers and forklifts.
